The competition saw seven schools go head-to-head to be crowned the winners of the competition.

“The purpose of this event was to give the youth in schools an opportunity to showcase their talent in music,” the chairman of TYT, Mr Ayanda Nkosi, said.

Ermelo schools came out guns blazing, taking advantage of their home turf and secured positions in the top three.

Ithafa Comprehensive School won the competition and received trophies and medals donated by Msukaligwa Sports Council.

Zinikeleni Secondary School from Carolina came second and Lindile Secondary School third.

“Compliments to the TYT team for a job well done and congratulations to Ithafa Secondary School for winning,” said the chairman of Msukaligwa Sports Council, Mr Blessing Sibande.

He added that they were delighted to see the TYT taking part in activities that strengthen Zion music in schools.

“This is a great initiative to involve the youth in community programmes that help to eliminate the social ills faced by our various communities,” Mr Sibande concluded.
