Having a Plan

Having a Plan

The ultimate master-plan
Itemise every dish you will be preparing, with that list in hand create a blueprint to countdown to the perfect celebration of Christmas. Having a plan is a good first step to help you relax and enjoy the holidays without constantly feeling anxiety over something going wrong.
It can help to break the plan into tasks which can be ticked off tasks as they are completed.
Made sure you delegate efficiently and wisely by sharing out the tasks to family and friends bearing in mind what their particular strengths are.
On Christmas Day your master-plan can also provide everyone with a clear outline of how their tasks fit into the bigger picture.

Plan meals
Writing down exactly how many people you will have to cater for and on which days you will be entertaining over the festive period. This will help you draw up your shopping lists to plan and ensure you have all the groceries you need to feed everyone.
Make a note of any days where you have been invited to eat away from home. Also, make a note of any offers of help you have received so you have it all down on paper.
Distribute copies of this meal plan along with the master-plan to anyone who might need the information in order to help you, and also to check that any picky eaters are catered for.

Gift list
If you aren’t one of those super organised types who have all their Christmas gifts already bought and wrapped before the first sign of tinsel hits the malls you will need to plan your gift buying to ensure everyone gets their gifts.
Despite what the movies show in the latest comedy romp about Bad Mothers, getting drunk before Christmas Shopping is not a good way to cope with the task of gift buying.
Instead, write everyone’s name down and what you will be buying them and then make a list so you can do Christmas Shopping along with grocery shopping for the holidays. Don’t forget to include wrapping paper, sticky tape and labels on the list.
