Concert didn’t bring community together
Highway Mail, Letter to the Editor

EDITOR – I am very sure that the majority of Manors residents would strongly disagree with a lot of the contents of the article of the concert in Lahee Park over the long weekend. The control of the event with the guards was handled well, but the music that the residents had to endure for more than 12 hours on Saturday was totally unacceptable and did not “bring the community together.” Eventually a resident had to go himself to tell them to shut it down because we had all finally had enough and it had gone over the time indicated and then again had to endure the same again on Sunday. Having sports events and fetes, etc for Lahee Park is a wonderful idea, but music events where the residents are inconvenienced is not on. Now the excuse at the Park for those playing loud music this past weekend was “if they can play music at the concert, why can’t I?”
I speak for myself when I say that should more concerts of this nature be organised as intended, then I will boycott it, even if I have to do it on my own – because enough is enough!
