WGHS star athlete smashes records

WESTVILLE Girl’s High School pupil, Natercia Dos Santos, is a star athlete.

At the school’s sports day she won the 100m, 200m, 400m, 1500m and the long jump events, setting new records for the 200m (standing since 1978) and the 400m events. She also had placings in other field events and came in second in the 800m sprint.

She was awarded the Junior Victrix Ludorum for the second consecutive year.

At the inter schools meeting at Kingsway High in Amanzimtoti with 14 girls’ schools participating from all over the province, Natercia was first in 100m, 200m (set a new record) and in the 400m sprint.

She recently competed at Michaelhouse in another inter schools’ event and added another broken record to her accomplishments for the 200m sprint.
