
A 14-YEAR-old boy was injured on Westville Road in Dawncliffe, Westville on Sunday 13 October at approximately 5.45pm when he allegedly ran into a passing car.
According to Werner Vermaak, a spokesman for ER24, bystanders reported that the boy was running away from a dog that was chasing him when the incident occurred.
“Paramedics found the boy with a possible head injury as well as an injured shoulder. He was stabilised on the scene and rushed to the Life Entabeni Hospital,” said Vermaak.
Sgt Stephen Clark, communications officer for Wesville SAPS, confirmed that a case of reckless and negligent driving had been opened at the Westville police station, and the police are investigating the incident.
“It was reported that two boys ran into the road and that the vehicle swerved to miss one boy and hit the other boy,” said Sgt Clark.
