A hundred against domestic violence

WHEAT launches its 100 Women against Domestic Violence campaign.

ALL women and young girls are invited to a breakfast to stand together and speak out against domestic violence and abuse.

The Make a Difference breakfast will be at The Riverside Hotel in Durban on Wednesday 20 November where The Women’s Hope, Education and Training Trust (WHEAT) launches its 100 Women against Domestic Violence campaign.

Tina Thiart, special projects manager said, “Once again ,we are mobilising 100 women who would like to be ambassadors for the event, and who will be part of mobilising and organising a further 1000 women for our event in 2015.

“This breakfast is an opportunity to be inspired, entertained and to develop powerful relationships.

“The Anene Booysen rape shocked South Africa to the core, and her death highlighted the reality of the fear women experience in their daily lives. The fear that they or their sisters, mothers, daughters or friends, will become victims of gender-based violence,” she said.

You can help this organisation by donating to the WHEAT Trust and support projects working with violence against women in South Africa.

“Encourage your company to invest in this initiative and become an ambassador by inviting nine guests to join your table for the launch of the 1000 Women against Domestic Violence breakfast in Durban,” said Thiart.
