Motorcyclists journey out to bike rally

Bikers left the Hillcrest Corner shopping centre at 6am on Friday 7 March.

MOTORCYCLISTS participating in the 101st Durban to Johannesburg Motorcycle Rally rode out of the upper level parking area at Hillcrest Corner shopping centre at 6am, today.

Participants gathered from 12pm on Thursday for registration and to exhibit their fun and adrenalin pumping machines.

This year, five international motorcyclists are participating in the event, along with four female riders, one of whom is Samantha Anderson from Drummond. She is riding the oldest motorcycle at the event, a Humber which has no clutch or kick start function.

Motorcyclists will arrive and conclude the rally at Turffontein Race Course in Johannesburg on Saturday 8 March from about 2.30pm.
