Westville beauty represents KZN
The 17-year-old model from Westville will represent KZN in the Miss Junior South Africa pageant.
SHARNELLE Wagner, a 17-year-old model from Westville was selected as a finalist for the Miss Junior South Africa on 18 January in Ballito at the Seaward Estate.
The aspiring beauty will be representing KwaZulu-Natal in the Miss Junior South Africa 2014 in May.
Wagner encouraged her community to support her by helping her raise the funds she needs to fulfill her dreams. Sharnelle has to raise R8 000 for her entry and accommodation. “I do not want to place the entire burden on my parents’ shoulders. They have been very supportive,” said Wagner.
If she is crowned as the winner, the young beauty intends to use her title to raise funds and awareness for people who are living with autism.
Wagner has been fascinated by the modelling industry from a young age, but her parents only allowed her to start her modelling career in August 2013 and she has already taken the modelling industry by storm.
Her latest titles include Miss Spring Queen, Face of Bella, Miss Kollig Fees, Miss Teen PnP Durban North, Miss Southern Hemisphere, Face of Savera and Miss Umhlanga Queen of the Day and La Bella Model of the Year.
“My parents did not believe that it was appropriate for me to model at a young age, but now they are very supportive,” said Wagner.
According to Wagner her mother, Petro Vermeulen, is her role model, as she has always been someone she looks up to and she has learnt a lot from her mother. She said her mom set the foundation for who she is today.
