Baby killed in road accident
A 14-week-old baby died when she and her mother were hit by a car in Saunder Road, New Germany.
AN infant died when she and her mother were hit by a car in Saunder Road, New Germany, earlier today.
Paramedics arrived on scene and found the critically injured baby, lying on the road and her mother seriously injured.
The 14-week-old girl, who had lost her pulse, was transported to the clinic and resuscitated for over an hour before her pulse was restored.
She was then transported to Albert Luthuli Provincial Hospital for urgent medical care. Her pulse dropped and she was declared dead at the hospital.
The mother is being treated for her back and neck injuries at RK Khan Hospital.
The driver of the car was not injured in the collision.
