Man crashes and burns in Shongweni

THE fire department worked the whole afternoon on Saturday to extinguish a fire and tried to save a man who was killed when his car crashed and burned along the N3 in Shongweni.

ER24 paramedics found the man in the burning car which made it impossible to remove him.

Fire fighters extinguished the fire which spread to 20 square meters of land around the car.

An eye witness told ER24 paramedics that the collision occurred when the driver apparently lost control of the car which caused it to crash through the roadside barrier and roll down the embankment. When he attempted to assist the driver, the car was already on fire. There were no other people injured in the accident.
