Police arrested three suspects in possession of a bakkie stolen from Pinetown.

THREE suspects were arrested on Thursday, 17 April at about 9am by members of Creighton SAPS after a routine car block.

Members of the Ingwe Municipal local traffic office were conducting a road block at Creighton main road to check for drunken driving and road worthiness of vehicles ahead of the Easter weekend, when they stopped a suspicious looking Toyota bakkie with three occupants.

The said vehicle was searched and the details circulated. It was found to be a hijacked motor vehicle from the Pinetown area. All three suspects aged between 25 and 30 years were arrested for possession of suspected stolen property. An investigating officer from Pinetown detectives was contacted and was informed of the arrest. The vehicle was positively identified by the owner.

“All arrested suspects were from Makholweni area in Creighton and will appear in the Ixopo Magistrate’s Courts on Wednesday, 23 April for possession of suspected stolen property, ” said spokesman for the SAPS, Captain Thulani Zwane.
