Ten pupils injured in taxi accident

KwaDabeka taxi accident leaves 10 pupils injured.

TEN pupils sustained minor injuries when the taxi they were travelling in overturned in KwaDabeka on Tuesday morning.

ER24 paramedics arrived on scene and found the taxi lying on its side and pupils sitting on the side of the road.

The children sustained minor injuries.

Russel Meiring of ER24 said the children were treated on the scene. Paramedics transported them to various hospitals.

“The driver of the vehicle said that the vehicle apparently experienced a mechanical fault, causing it to roll.

According to KwaDabeka Police Station communications officer, Cst Lungisani Xaba, the accident happened at 6.20am at Eifumi Drive in KwaDabeka.

“We are still not sure what caused the accident, but the taxi hit a pole and rolled. Fortunately, there were no serious injuries and the pupils were taken to the KwaDabeka Clinic.

KwaDabeka police were on scene to investigate the exact cause of the collision.
