One dead, two injured in Hillcrest collision
A man lost his life and two others were injured in a car collision this morning.

ONE man was killed and two others injured when two motor vehicles collided on the N3 highway westbound before the Hillcrest offramp, early this morning.
ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on scene to find the two wrecked vehicles in the fast lane, with pieces of the vehicles spread across the road.
Reports from the scene indicate that the Uno was broken down in the fast lane, another vehicle came hurtling down the road and collided with the stationary vehicle ripping it apart.
Russel Meiring, ER24 emergency media and client liaison coordinator, said, “Witnesses on scene stated that one vehicle had collided with the stationary vehicle in the fast lane. The occupant of the stationary vehicle was ejected from the car into the oncoming traffic.”
On assessment, paramedics discovered the driver of the stationary vehicle had been killed. The two occupants in the second vehicle sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate.
The two patients were treated for their various injuries before they were stabilised and transported to a nearby hospital for further medical treatment.
It is unknown what caused the collision but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
