Chef school spreads winter warmth
The SPCA's Blanket Drive received some positive support.

THE 1000 Hills Chef School in Botha’s Hill recently supported the Kloof and Highway SPCA’s Blanket Drive by donating R3 000 worth of fleece blankets to the animals under the SPCA’s care.
Winter is slowly encroaching the Highway area and the SPCA is in desperate need of blankets to keep the animals warm during the cold months.
“The 1000 Hills Chef School has been an amazing support of the SPCA for almost a decade now. They support our animals in so many ways, including making animal treats and sponsoring kennels, magazine pages and special projects,” said Barbara Laubscher, the fundraising manager at the SPCA.
Sharmaine Dixon, co-owner of the school, said they were regular supporters of the SPCA as it was a charity close to the school’s heart. “The staff and pupils at the school are also avid animal lovers,” said Dixon.
Residents who are interested in supporting the SPCA’s Blanket Drive can either donate a 100cm x 152cm fleece blanket or R30 which will allow the SPCA to purchase the blankets.
Staff at the SPCA are specifically requesting fleece blankets as they are easy to wash and dry. The fleece blankets are also more durable than other blankets.
