
TWENTY one pupils from Kloof Senior Primary School took part in the annual Grade 6 and 7 Science Expo at Glenwood High School recently.
The expo encourages pupils to carry out their own scientific investigations in the hope that they continue to the next round which is the Eskom and the FFS Science Expos.
The group of young scientists in the making travelled with their 17 single, and two double projects, to Glenwood High School to defend the top school title that their school won at last year’s event.
The youngsters once again did Kloof Senior Primary School proud as the took home gold, silver and bronze medals. The school also received another Interactive Smart Board fore once again taking the title of top school.
Dani Janse Van Rensburg received a gold medal, as well as her own Tablet, for her project, Alien – Friend or Foe.
Her project is said to have created controversy within the Kloof area as she is questioning the removal of all alien trees, specifically the Blue Gum and Eucalyptus, which is where the crowned eagles nest.

Ewald Fenske was awarded a silver medal for his project on the Ripening of Avocado Pears, while Kayla Sankey won a bronze medal for her work on the Absorbency of Different Disposable Nappies.
