Woman killed, five injured in collision

A road accident on the R103 claimed one woman's life at the weekend.

A woman was killed and five other people injured when the bakkie they were travelling in overturned along the R103 in Cato Ridge, on Saturday.

ER24 and other emergency services arrived on scene to find the woman laying lifeless near the carnage.

She had been ejected from the front passenger seat of the bakkie. The four other people, one woman and three men, who had been sitting in the back of the bakkie were also ejected during the collision. They, as well the driver, sustained serious and moderate injuries.

All the patients were transported to Edendale and Northadale Hospitals for the relevant medical care.

The bakkie allegedly overturned and hit a tree when the collision occurred.

The incident is under investigation.
