Woman run over in New Germany

A PEDESTRIAN was hit by a car when the driver lost control in Dinkelman Road, New Germany yesterday afternoon.

An eye witness who did not wish to be named, said, “The car had six occupants and was coming from KwaDabeka and lost control on the bend.

“I heard a loud bang and then I saw it roll several times, two girls who were in the car got out and fled.

“Within minutes there were police, an ambulance, fire truck and people all over the road as people were coming back from work,” said the witness.

Police said the pedestrian that was hit was on her way home coming from work. She was taken to the clinic.

The four occupants who didn’t flee the scene  also sustained minor injuries.
