Ashburton N3 accident leaves seven injured

Paramedics found the highway strewn with debris and the twisted remains of the vehicles.

A head-on collision on the N3 south in Ashburton on Saturday night (8 November) left seven people injured and one critically injured.

Reports from the scene indicate that a vehicle crossed the centre median and collided with the another vehicle.

“Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found the highway totally obstructed with accident debris and the twisted remains of the vehicles.

“After triaging the injured, it was found that one person had sustained life threatening injuries, three were seriously injured while three miraculously escaped with minor injuries,” said Chris Botha, Inland Media Liaison for Netcare Limited.

After the injured were stabilised at the scene paramedics transported them to various hospital for the care they required.

Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events remain a subject for police investigation and comment.
