Business relay postponed till next year
The popular KPMG Business Relay has been postponed to next year due to an international soccer match this weekend.
THE province’s premier KPMG Business Relay, has been postponed to next year to accommodate a last minute decision by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to move the Africa Cup of Nations football international game between Bafana Bafana and Sudan to the Moses Mabhida stadium to this Saturday, 15 November at 3pm.
Despite the fact that the event was booked in May this year, international events take precedent over any other event.
The Metro Police issued an injunction preventing the event from taking place on the same day as the roads used for the relay are very close to the stadium. Furthermore, CAF takes over all the activity in the city for the day and wants the focus to be entirely on the football.
The event will now take place at 3pm on Saturday, 7 March, 2015. All entries and site bookings are automatically transferred to the new date.
The sponsors apologised sincerely for the inconvenience caused, but added that unfortunately it has been completely out of their control.
