Triad gets beautiful therapy room
Triad now boasts a beautiful new therapy room.
Triad, a school based in Pinetown that provides nurturing care and stimulation to children with physical and mental disabilities, has a beautiful new therapy room which was made possible through the money from their Kloof Country Club Golf Day.
The event, which was organised by Michelle Seaton whose daughter attends Triad, with the help of local NGO, We are Durban, was well supported and raised about R83 000. The money was used to transform an empty, run down outside room into a brightly coloured and much needed therapy centre for the children.
Thobelani Mabaso, who does sports at Pinetown Boys’ High School and is qualified in sports science, has come on board to do therapy with the Triad children in the therapy room which includes gym balls, mats, a climbing frame, rock climbing wall and swings. He also takes the more physically abled children to do ball skills at Pinetown Boys’.
Michelle Seaton thanked all the sponsors who made it possible. “The children just love coming into the therapy room. Seeing the joy on their faces, you have no idea how much this means.”
Triad’s next project is to repair and heat the pool outside the therapy room so that it can also be used in their therapy programme. If you are able to assist, contact Triad on 031 701 7044.
