One injured in Ridley Park Rd collision

ONE person was seriously injured in a collision on Ridley Park Road in Malvern on Friday morning.

Paramedics arrived on the scene to find that two vehicles had collided and one of the drivers still trapped in the wreckage with serious injuries.

“Advanced life support paramedics stabilized the injured while the Durban fire department used the Jaws of Life to free the injured man.

“He was then carefully extricated before being placed on a specialized spinal board to prevent any further injuries,” said Garrith Jamieson, Rescue Care paramedics director.

The man was transported to a nearby hospital.

At this stage it is unclear what caused the collision however SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating.
