VIDEO: Armed robbery at Pavilion caught on camera

No one has been arrested for Pavilion armed robbery.

A VIDEO of an armed robbery at a local shopping mall has gone viral, in which three men armed with guns are seen jumping out of a white Kia.

According to a post on the Local needs facebook page, this happened at the Pavilion shopping Centre in Westville and has been confirmed by police.

According to KZN police spokesman, Major Thulani Zwane, the incident happened at about 10.45am on Tuesday, 28 April in the centre’s roof parking area.

“A businessman went to deposit money at a bank inside the centre. As soon as he got out of the car, three men carrying guns approached and robbed him of R150 000.

“The three fled the scene in a white car, and there was also a fourth man, who was the driver,” said Zwane.

A case of armed robbery has been opened and no arrests have been made yet.
