
TWO men aged 19 and 23 were arrested on Wednesday, 29 April for housebreaking and theft in Selbourne Road, Paradise Valley, Pinetown.
According to Pinetown SAPS communications officer, Cst Phindile Radebe, it is alleged that the complainant left her house at about 9.15am with all the windows and doors locked and the alarm activated.
“She received a call from her landlord informing her that there had been a break-in. When she arrived at the scene she noticed that the back window was forced opened and some items were missing.
“It is alleged that two men fled the scene on foot with a computer monitor, pair of shoes and clothes,” she said.
The alleged robbers were later apprehended by W/O Dion Venter from Pinetown Bike Unit and Cst Musa Khwela from Shongweni Dog Unit at Old Main Road, Cowies Hill.
Radebe said the stolen items were still in the men’s possession when the they were arrested.
KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Mmamonnye Ngobeni, congratulated the police for their swift response which led to the arrest of the alleged robbers.
“We will ensure that our police officials are at every corner to capture all those who are breaking the law,” she said.
