POLICE arrested a 40-year-old man for possession of illegal ammunition and employing undocumented foreign nationals on Thursday, 26 November.
The Chinese foreign national was found in possession of eight 9mm rounds, 31 cartridges and 116 bullet heads
Pinetown SAPS communications officer, Lt Bongumusa Manqele, said the man was arrested during an intelligence-driven operation in the Peacevale area near Inchanga by the Pinetown Crime Intelligence Unit, Inchanga SAPS, Hammarsdale SAPS and the Pinetown Tactical Response Team.
“The operation was addressing the sale of counterfeit goods and the use of undocumented labourers from Lesotho and Malawi,” he said.
The operation resulted in the arrest of 29 undocumented foreign nationals.
