Hopes and dreams for the new year

Highway residents make their New Year's resolutions.

A New Year’s resolution is a common tradition, in which a person makes a promise to do an act of self-improvement or something slightly nice, such as opening doors for people beginning from New Year’s Day. Highway residents made their New Years’s resolutions known and hoped to keep them.

“I want to study hard and do better in school,” said Thandokuhle Shabalala, 15, from Molweni.

“I’m not going to stop loving the person that I love, I want to do better thanI did last and improve myself wherever I can,” said Lynton Schutte, 57, from Pinetown.

“I would love to be more active, go to gym, be healthier and look after myself for a change,” said Dale Gillingwater, 66, from Ashley.

“I want to progress in music, finish my degree and of course I hope for good health,” said Ryan Naidoo, 18, from Pinetown.
