Help make 2016 ‘purr’fect for AACL
Highway residents still have a chance to Adopt-a-Cat at the Animal Anti-Cruelty League in Hammarsdale.
THE Animal Anti-Cruelty League (AACL) had a busy but good 2015.
In partnership with the KZN State Veterinary Department, they sterilised 6 000 dogs and cats, which averages 16 animals per day.
They also re-homed 59 animals into loving homes giving them a second chance of a happy, loving life.
In the middle of September, they launched an Adopt-a-Cat campaign. The AACL Durban, which is based in Hammarsdale, have over 60 cats that they house and feed. The chances of these cats being homed are very slim as people rarely want to adopt an adult cat. So they appealed to their supporters to ‘adopt’ a cat at the cost of R100 per month. So far 25 cats have been adopted.
“Our work would not be possible without the care and compassion of our loyal supporters. Thank you for allowing us to continue in our daily endeavours. Your continued support is greatly appreciated. Wishing you and your loved ones a wonderful festive season and a ‘purr’fect 2016,” said Judi Gibson, the general manager at AACL.
Should you still wish to adopt a cat, email to inspectorate@aacldurban.co.za or the AACL can be contacted on 031 736 9093.
