A JOINT effort by SAPS, Metro, the K9 Unit and Pro Force Security netted one of the most wanted men in Westville.
Westville SAPS communications officer, Cpt Elizabeth Squires, said the man entered a house in Westville Central at approximately 2.30pm and fled with an iPad and some jewellery.
He was spotted on the N3 near Pinetown by Pro Force Security. SAPS and K9 members converged on the area and traced him through shacks near the blood bank.
Squires said members of several neighbourhood watches also took up observation from various points. The Pro Force officer spotted and arrested the man back on the N3 and held him until Westville SAPS members arrived to detain him.
“Shortly after the arrest, Westville detectives linked the man to several incidents in the area. Well done and excellent work to all the members involved,” said Squires.
