TWO people were killed and another was injured when two trucks collided on the N3 south-bound at the Mariannhill toll plaza this morning.
Netcare 911 paramedics rushed to the incident at 8.19am. “Reports from the scene indicate that one truck rear-ended another heavy goods vehicle,” said Chris Botha, media liaison officer for Netcare 911.
Two passengers, a man and a woman, were still trapped in the wreckage of the rear truck and both died on scene due to their extensive injuries. The driver of that truck had minor injuries. The driver in the heavy goods vehicle was not injured.
Paramedics treated the driver at the scene before he was transported to a nearby hospital.
