WATCH: Robbers thwarted by chilli pepper spray again

The two would be robbers are chased from the store by the chilli pepper spray after only 14 seconds.

CHILLI pepper spray ensured that two would-be robbers did not have enough time to steal any goods from the H20 store a the Sugar Loaf Centre in Bothas Hill yesterday morning.

This was the third break in at the store in recent weeks

The men smashed through the glass front door and one of the men ran into the store at 2.41.23am. He ran behind the counter to grab the plasma screen. The chilli pepper spray triggered and filled the storefront with the noxious gas. At 2.41.30am the second man entered the store but was sprayed in the face with the chilli pepper. He fled from the store. The other man was unable to steal the tower and ran from the store at 2.41.37am.

The security upgrades were installed after the first robbery at the store in May, when the businesses main server and its backups were stolen. As a fail-safe for future robberies, he contacted Ian Colls, the managing director of Compusafe Electronic Asset Security, and the chilli pepper gas alarm was installed.
