WATCH: Alleged bad cops arrested in Hillcrest sting operation

Ward 10 Councillor, Rick Crouch, caught the entire sting operation on camera.

TWO police officers were arrested in an alleged sting operation to root out bad cops in Hillcrest yesterday morning.

According to Ward 10 Councillor, Rick Crouch, who also caught some of the incident on his dash cam, it happened at about 10.20am. He said his initial suspicions of a sting operation were later confirmed by a senior police official.

The video opens with a policeman running away from two civilians towards the Hillcrest Police Station.
Crouch said he sat in his car for a short time while the incident played out behind him. He then turned his car around and drove towards the entrance of Mr Price Home and noticed a policeman was held by his jacket by a man in civilian clothes. “I thought that these guys were holding up the cops as there was a cash in transit van parked at the front entrance to the building. That was just one of my suspicions until my initial thoughts were confirmed in the comments on my Facebook post,” said Crouch.

He said there were another three men in civilian clothes near the incident, one of whom bent down to pick up what Crouch believed to be the personal effects of one of the arrested policemen.
