Bowls players line up for KHBA fundraiser

The Keep Hillcrest Beautiful Association raised much-needed funds during a bowls fundraiser event recently.

THE Keep Hillcrest Beautiful Association hosted a successful bowls day recently. The event was the brainchild of Warren Ozard and Barbara and Daryll Fourie.

“Thanks to their hard work in organising this event, it resulted in a happy, rewarding day. The event was organised as a fundraiser for the association with great success,” said Marge Mitchell, chairman of the Keep Hillcrest Beautiful Association.

She thanked the businesses and individuals in Hillcrest who sponsored more than 80 prizes for the participants, Derek Motto-Ros, chairman of the bowling club, for donating the entire entry fee to the association and to Keith Sanderson, trustee of the William Gillitt Sports Ground Trust who has enrolled the Trust as a member of the Keep Hillcrest Beautiful Association. “His observation is that both the Trust and the Keep Hillcrest Beautiful Association serve the community and as such the Trust is proud to be a member of the Association – kind words indeed,” said Marge.
