All learners wanting a career in the maritime industry should head to uShaka this school holiday for a careers course.

IF you are in Grade 9, 10, 11 and matric and are wanting to study towards a career in the maritime industry, uShaka Marine World will host a marine careers course during the April holidays.

The four-day course starts on Monday, 3 April and ends on Thursday, 6 April with the daily classes from 8am to 4pm.

This course provides learners with an opportunity to find out more about the various marine careers by spending time with staff in the animal health, mammal and bird and the aquarium departments.

They will also enjoy practical sessions with an ORI (oceanographic research institute) marine scientist and attend talks on the variety of university requirements needed to enter the various marine fields.

The course costs R235 per learner.
