THE Kloof and Highway SPCA is appealing to witnesses to come forward following the deaths of three Africanis medium breed in the KwaNyuswa area on Friday, 21 April.

All three dogs were tan in colour. One was a female and the other two males.
“On arrival Eric saw the bodies of two dogs hanging from a tree and a third body lying on the ground. All three dogs were deceased and appeared to have been dead for a few hours,” said Mörck.
She added that the people responsible for this tragic incident had fled the scene and Eric tried to gather information from community members as well as establish who the dogs belonged to but no owners have been located at this point in time.
“The bodies were brought back to the Kloof and Highway SPCA where post mortems will be conducted by the veterinarian and the bodies will be sent for further testing so we can establish what the possible cause of death could be,” said Mörck.
The Kloof and Highway SPCA is urgently appealing to anyone with information to contact them on 031 764 1212/3 or email inspectorate@kloofspca.co.za. All information will be treated confidentially.

“Sadly we will be unable to prosecute or open a case unless we have evidence and witnesses to give statements for this horrific incident. The Kloof and Highway SPCA have a zero tolerance for animal cruelty and incidents like this are taken very seriously – animal cruelty is a crime,” said Mörck.
