The 12-year-old was one of 15 of the most promising young KZN orchestral performers chosen to take part in a special once-off concert at The Playhouse.

YOUNG Northdene violinist, Sabastian Marimuthu (12) was one of 15 of the most promising young KZN orchestral performers chosen to take part in a special once-off concert to showcase a variety of classical solo skills.

The show, which took place on Saturday, 20 May at The Playhouse, was a collaborative effort between The KZN Philharmonic Orchestra and the South African Society of Music Teachers.

“I’m very excited. I have played at the playhouse before, this will be my third time. I am looking forward to spreading my talent,” he said.

Sabastian had his first violin when he was three-years-old and started playing at the age of five. He said he loves the violin because it allows him to think deeply, especially about music.
