Donate a potted plant for Mandela Day

Highway Hospice is encouraging all gardeners to donate plants.

HIGHWAY Hospice has many ideas for this year’s Mandela Day and if you are a gardener, Hospice is encouraging you to pot some pretty plants to sell at their mini-fete on Mandela Day, 18 July.

Hospice is also asking for donations of any unused pots.

“We all seem to collect pots from nurseries when buying plants. Why not put them to good use and help Highway Hospice raise much-needed funds,” said Highway Hospice volunteer event coordinator, Heather Partner.

People are also invited to join the Mandela Day celebrations at the Sherwood centre, 59 Locksley Drive. Delicious homemade biscuits, hats and bags will also be on sale on the day.

Food and refreshments will be on sale which people can enjoy under the trees at the centre while listening to good music.

Plants, hats and bags can be dropped off at the Sherwood branch or at the Pinetown Hospice shop, which is located at 5 Butts Road.

Hospice delivers much needed services to the community and relies on fund-raising to support its efforts.
