THOMAS More College’s primary school SPAR Star of the Month is Grade 6 learner, Björn Bekker.
Björn started with swimming lessons at six months old and currently swims with the Kloof Swimming Club and coach, Nick Gray.
At the age of seven he swam with the U9s at the Sasolburg Nationals and did extremely well, placing in the top 10 for his events. The following year he achieved gold, silver and bronze medals for all his events – 50m, 100m and 200m in freestyle, butterfly, backstroke and breaststroke races.

Last year Björn achieved great results in the SA Champs and the Sasolburg Nationals, again winning gold, silver and bronze for all his events.
Björn is the number 1 swimmer in the country for the 50m, 100m and 200m breaststroke.
Besides all his swimming achievements, Björn is a talented rugby player and also enjoys running, fishing, playing golf and hip-hop dancing.
