HILLCREST High School’s multi-talented Hannah Carney plays U15 soccer, U16 indoor and outdoor hockey as well as 1st team softball for her school.
Last year she was selected for the U15 Highway soccer team and went on to be selected for the U15 KZN soccer team, where unfortunately she was forced to withdraw due to injury.
Hannah’s focus sport is softball. Last year she was selected for the KZN U15 A team for the second year running.
She plays the position of pitcher.
In KZN’s final game of the inter-regional tournament against Northern’s A team, Hannah pitched two frames without a single run being scored – those who are familiar with the game will appreciate that this is a fantastic achievement.
KZN went on to finish second overall in the U15 girls group of the tournament.
Hannah was awarded “Batter of the tournament” in the U15 girls section.
Her coach, Lauren Davison said: “I am so proud of Hannah. She is deserving of all her achievements and has worked hard for them. Well done Hannah.”
