Fire breaks out at Malvern furniture shop

Details of what caused the fire are not clear at this stage.

AT around 7am today (17 April) a fire broke out at a furniture shop in the Malvern area, Queensburgh. The fire was swiftly extinguished before anyone was injured.

According to the Queensburgh Fire Department’s station commander, Rajan Arunachallem, he and his crew responded to the fire in minutes after the emergency call was made and were able to put it out.

“We gained entry through the front door and no one was injured during this ordeal,” he said.

The fire department could not disclose what caused the fire.
