Rotarians go green for Earth Day

Each year, Earth Day, April 22, marks the anniversary of the birth of the modern environmental movement in 1970.

TO commemorate Earth Day, the Queensburgh Rotary Club hosted a tree planting ceremony at Parkside Primary School in keeping with the ‘Every Rotarian plant a tree’ initiative by Rotary International.

Rotarian Shantha, Eugene Moodley (Pres of RC Chatsworth), Past President Kimona Archary (RC Queensburgh), Cormac McDermott (Pres RC Queensburgh), Rotarian Vani Indurjeeth (RC Queensburgh) and principal, Sandy Thaver with head boy, Daniel Scheepers, deputy head boy, Hughwyn, head girl, Ria Haripersad and deputy head girl, Tara Moodley helped plant a number of trees on the school field.
