Local support keeps Hillcrest beautiful

THOSE dropping off their recyclable goods at the Keep Hillcrest Beautiful Association’s site in Hillcrest will be greeted with freshly laid crushed gravel.
“Brett Weyer, the owner of Build It in Botha’s Hill, very kindly and generously donated a load of crushed gravel to the KHBA. Our association is continually helped and assisted by the public and businesses in the area and for this we are very grateful. Thank you very much,” said the NPO’s Marge Mitchell.
The association is run by a dedicated group of volunteers who oversee the running of the popular recycling centre which, according to Marge Mitchell, creates jobs, helping to alleviate poverty as well as encourage residents to care for the local environment.
The anti-litter campaign as well as the removal of alien invasive plants, graffiti and illegal signage from municipal grounds are a few of the projects hosted by the hard-working committee.
“With the capacity for service delivery stretched to the limit in many parts of eThekwini, our KHBA volunteers do what they can to assist the municipality in maintaining Hillcrest as an attractive and appealing destination,” said Marge.
