Pinetown couple ‘dear’ to everyone
Geoff and Pam Dear celebrated their 70th anniversary on Tuesday, 14 August.
PAM was only 16 when she met the love of her life, Geoff Dear and on Tuesday, 14 August, the two lovebirds celebrated their 70th anniversary.
Although, the two lived in Greenwood Park, they never came across one another and only met when they were both on holiday at the Lions River.
Geoff fell in love with Pam the first time he laid his eyes on her and said he likes everything about her.

Pam (90) said Geoff (93) takes after his surname, “he is a dear darling.”
“He is a very easy and quiet man, even though we had our disagreements, but we have always supported each other,” said Pam.
The couple said their recipe for their long and happy marriage is, “no one was the boss.”
“There is no ‘I’ in our relationship and we make mutual decisions together and we are a team,” said Geoff.
The two do not have any children but have many nieces and nephews who have been a huge part in their lives.

“Most of them stayed with us over the years and I love them all. Till today, they are still special to us, they are now taking care of us and they visit us often,” said Pam.
The Dears’ recently moved from from Pinehaven Retirement Complex to Bethany Gardens.
They were at Pinehaven for nearly 20 years and were very popular as they were actively involved in everything that happened there.
