HILLCREST Primary School’s SPAR Star of the Month is Grade 3 learner, Ella Lorimer.
Ella was one of the children from the Abagility Maths Club who proudly represented SA in the Annual Global Association of Japanese Soroban and Mental Arithmetic (GAJSMA) International Abacus and Mental Arithmetic Championship in Gauteng.
There were a total of 272 children competing from various countries and on 10 different levels.
On her level, there were 59 children and she snapped up second place and came home with a Champion Trophy.
“She did exceptionally well and we are really so proud of her to have been selected to represent South Africa and compete in the International arena again this year! She works hard and is extremely dedicated. Well done Ella, what a super star achievement,” said the school’s marketer, Kim Joubert.
