This particular fund-raiser targeted the members of EMBO Gym and the local community exposing them to a Strongman event in the build-up for the 2020 Strongman Competition.

“Under the guidance of Alex Luthuli, with assistance and encouragement from four time SA Strongman, Rory Scheepers and current SA Strongman, Blake Louwrens, these young and enthusiastic males and females pushed themselves to achieve outstanding personal and competitive goals.

“While the R95 000.00 sponsored event was held on 6 July, fund-raising for this will continue to the end of July as we chase our target of R50 000,” said Lives With A Purpose’s Catherine Wheeler.

“We are currently sitting on a Rand value of R15 000 and gym equipment donations to the value of R13 000. Some sponsors have committed to continue to accumulate funds from the sales generated during the month of July in aid of this worthy fund-raiser,” Wheeler said.
