Fund-raiser helps rewrite children’s stories
The non-profit organisation, based in Shongweni, currently looks after 18 children.
A CAST of more than 200 dancers from 10 dance studios performed for a packed house at the Dancers Make a Difference fund-raiser for the Ingane Yami Children’s Village recently.
The audience was treated to ballet, hip-hop, acrobatics, Irish dancing, tap dancing and Spanish dancing from the various studios. As a cherry on top of the proverbial cake, 100 per cent of the profit from ticket and food sales went towards rewriting the stories at Ingane Yami.
“Thank you to all of the dance studios involved in making this happen; particularly Michele Pope Du Preez from Michele Pope Studio of Dance and Karen Thomson from Karen Drake Dance Studio for taking on the task of organising,” said the organisation’s marketing and fund-raising officer, Patricia Deacon.
“Another thank you to our sponsors Richdens SuperSPAR, Tegwen and John Dory’s Watercrest and Kloof for the amazing prizes.”
