Westville Senior Primary School's SPAR Star of the Month - July 2019.

RONAN du Plessis, a Grade 7 learner, is Westville Senior Primary’s SPAR Star of the Month.

Ronan is the top badminton player at the school and was recently selected as a member of the South African U15 badminton team.

He represented South Africa at the All African Games at The Ivory Coast. The country’s team received a silver medal. Ronan also played doubles at the event and he, and his partner, were awarded bronze.

He is the captain of the WSPS badminton team, and has won the badminton champion’s trophy at the school every year for the last three years. Ronan’s teachers describe him as diligent, consistent and committed.

Ronan excels at academics and produces an exceptional standard of work. He is a polite and friendly learner who has impeccable manners. At the end of the second term this year, Ronan shared first place in class and first place in the grade with a fellow classmate.

His favourite subject is mathematics and when he finishes school, he would like to study to be an accountant. In his leisure time, Ronan enjoys trail riding at Giba Gorge with his friends.
