TMC’s top learners celebrated

The guest speaker, Matthew Willman, had a special surprise in store for the learners before he ended his speech.

THOMAS More College’s matric class of 2019 was acknowledged and congratulated at their 2019 prize-giving ceremony where the internationally recognised documentary photographer and past pupil, Matthew Willman, addressed the crowd.

Matthew concluded the evening with a thought provoking paradigm, “there is only one sensible thing to do with this life we have been given… fill it. Learn as much as you can, have compassion, show love, be vulnerable, choose hope, choose adventure. You are only limited by your imagination. Money will come. God created an ordered universe, go in the way of seeking a full life and more will be added to you.”

Matthew Willman is never one to do anything in half-measures, so to end the evening on a high he had arranged a very special personalised video message from The Daily Show host and South African comedian, Trevor Noah. In the clip he wished the class of 2019 all the very best. The school erupted with elation and was most certainly a moment that will be cherished for years to come.
