Chic Mamas appeal for winter clothing
The Chic Mamas are asking for a donation of second-hand, warm clothing for children aged six months to six years.
THE Chic Mamas Do Care Durban team has remained active and been very busy during the lockdown period.
While the members cannot hold any fund-raising fashion events during the lockdown period or visit the schools and children they are normally involved with, they have kept in constant contact with their three main pre-schools.

They have identified various ways of how they can assist these schools in needy areas, over the next few months.
One of the immediate needs is winter clothing. Winter has been knocking at the door for the last few weeks and Chic Mamas is asking the Upper Highway community to please assist by donating second-hand, warm clothing for children aged six months to six years.
“They are looking for jackets, tracksuits, T-shirts, socks and shoes. Many of the parents in these areas have lost their income due to the Covid-19 lockdown. They can scarcely put food on the table, never mind provide clothing for these little children,” said Chic Mama, Dawn Currie.
If you are able to donate clothing for these children, SMS Dawn on 083 274 3882 to arrange collection or a drop-off point.
Clothing donations can also be dropped off with Sharon Du Preez at Calissa Lodge, 1 Raleigh Rd in Woodside.Dawn said the last few weeks they have also reached out to the community appealing for volunteers to knit warm beanies and hats for the little children.
“We have been delighted to see the response. If anyone would like to knit more over the lockdown period, please let us know,” said Dawn.
