Hillcrest AIDS Centre Trust’s youth rise to the challenge

Every item you purchase from the Ubuntu Ground Cafe will help raise funds for the Hillcrest AIDS Centre Trust's Respite Unit.

THE young Ubuntu Ground Cafe trainees have been keeping themselves busy in between sales by baking delicious loaves of fresh bread that are added to the Hillcrest AIDS Centre Trust’s (HACT) emergency food hampers and are distributed to needy families in the Valley of 1000 Hills.

The Ubuntu Ground Cafe, 26 Old Main Road in Hillcrest, is open from 8am to 4pm from Monday to Friday and from 8am to 2pm on Saturdays.

All profit generated from the cafe will go to HACT’s 24-bed Respite Unit that enables it to provide free care to those who are in the advanced stages of AIDS or cancer.

“Thank you to our Dutch partners, Wilde Ganzen and Stichting Zulu Aid, for supporting these much needed Covid-19 relief activities and helping to upskill our young trainees at the same time,” said HACT’s marketing and fund-raising manager, Claire Hodgkinson.
