A DECOMPOSED body was found floating in the Umbilo River near Eden Road this morning.

According to KZN police spokesperson, Capt Nqobile Gwala, police officers from Durban Search and Rescue along with DBN K9 Search and Rescue and Metro police Search and Rescue were called out to Paradise Valley in Pinetown.

“The body of an unknown male was seen floating in the river by a passerby.

“The body was carried out to the roadway where it was handed over to police officers from Pinetown,” said Gwala.

An inquest docket has been opened for investigation.
