WATCH: Inanda Road closed to airlift accident victim

Paramedics used the Jaws of Life to help free the trapped motorist.

INANDA Road in Waterfall was closed earlier today when a helicopter was called in to airlift a patient to a nearby hospital.

According to Blue Security’s community and media liaison, Andreas Mathios, first responders and paramedics were dispatched to the accident scene this morning and one person was trapped inside a vehicle.

“They had to be cut free using the Jaws of Life. Paramedics worked together as a team to extricate the injured patient,” said Andreas.

The Netcare 911 helicopter was dispatched and, with the assistance of Blue security, the road was closed off in both directions to clear a landing space for the helicopter.
